Sentences

 

A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought.  A complete sentence needs to include:
  1. Who or what the sentence is about
  2.  and tell what happened.
  3. Sentences begin with a capital letter and have a punctuation mark (.  ? or ! ) at the end of it.

Fernando made his own paint.

        

A sentence fragment is a group of words that does not express a complete thought.  It may tell who or what ...or it might tell what happens but not both.
  1. The gray furry cat.
  2. Big red apples.
  3. Ate seven slices of pizza.
Run-On sentences are two or more sentences that are together.

Susie ate really big ripe red tomatoes she ate so many she got sick and she had to go to bed.

Should be... Susie ate really big ripe red tomatoes.  She ate so many she got sick and had to go to bed.
