Unit 1  Living in Communities

There are many different types of communities both in the United States and around the world.  They can be rural and small town, to suburban and urban. Each community will have its own landforms, climate, and resources but all have common needs for food, jobs, homes, services and recreation.

 

Chapter 1 Understanding Communities

All communities have some things that are the same.
Communities can be different from each other.
All communities are shaped by where they are located.
People live in rural areas in country houses, farms, and small towns.
People can live in housing developments in suburbs.
In large urban area people may live in skyscrapers.
