Dear Dr. Heisey:

I am pleased to learn that you are trying to insert some logic into the plan to construct another
ethanol plant. I am attaching a copy of the letter to the editor that I sent to the Milwaukee Journal
Sentinel. In addition, I am attaching a piece from a draft paper that we are writing that deals in part with
ethanol.
For other specialists who you might contact concerning the energetic, economic, and environmental
problems associated with ethanol, I suggest:

Dr. Paul Weisz, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Walter Youngquist, Eugene, Oregon

Dr. Tillman Gerngross
Professor
Dartmouth College

Dr. Heisey, best wishes,
David
