Windows 98 New Account Setup (Does not work for Second Edition)

- Go to the Start menu, Programs, Internet Explorer then click Connection Wizard.
- Select the Middle option that reads "I have an existing Internet account…", then click Next.
- Select the first option which talks about using an Internet Service provider or Local area network. Click Next.
- Select the option which reads "Connect using my phone line." Click next.
- If prompted, choose "Create a new dial-up connection". Click Next.
- Uncheck the box that says "Dial using the area code and country code". Then
fill in your access phone number. Use 763-0395 for all calls local to Beaver
Dam. All local Mayville customers should use 644-4016. All others Click

- Enter your User name and password (use lower case letters). Click Next.
- When asked to change the advanced settings for this connection click No. Click Next.
- For the Connection Name box, type in Power Web. Click Next
- When prompted to set up an Internet Mail account click yes. Click Next.
- If prompted, choose the option to Create a New Internet Mail Account. Click Next.
- Type in Your Name. Click Next.
- Type in your email address (EXAMPLE: russm@powerweb.net). Click Next.
- Fill in pwc.powerweb.net for both incoming and outgoing mail options. Click Next.
- Fill in your POP account name (this is your user name. EXAMPLE: russm). Fill in your password. Click Next.
- For the Internet mail account name just accept what the computer puts in there for you. Click Next.
- When prompted to set up an Internet News account click Yes. Click Next.
- If prompted, choose the option to Create a New Internet News account. Click Next.
- On display name, type your name if it is not already there. Click Next.
- On display email address, type your email address if it is not already there. Click next.
- Fill in news.powerweb.net for News (NNTP) server. Click Next.
- For the Internet News account name just accept what the computer puts in there for you. Click Next.
- When prompted to set up your Internet directory service account, click No. Click Next.
- Click Finish.
Setting Power Web As the Home Page
- Go to the Start menu, Settings, and open Control Panel.
- Double Click on Internet.
- On the General tab, go the Home Page address.
- Fill in http://www.powerweb.net then click OK on the bottom.
