Boy Scout Merit Badge Day
The Boy Scout Merit Badge for model railroading was conducted at the Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club in New Berlin, WI in February of this year, 2004. Approximately 50 young men attended this event, along with their scout masters. Milwaukee Lionel Railroad club members set up 10 different educational stations, at which the boys qualified to receive their merit badge. Dave Rohr was the chairman of this event, which ended with a lunch consisting of pizza and sodas. Door prizes were given at the end of the event, which also were sponsored by the Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club and Kalmbach Publishing Company. Another similar event is planned for 2005.
